Proper installation ensures that the PVC strip curtains are securely mounted, provide maximum efficiency, and withstand heavy usage in industrial and commercial environments.
Step-by-Step Installation Instructions
1. Measure Doorway or Opening
- Measure the width and height of the doorway where the PVC strip curtain will be installed.
- Choose the correct rail length:
- 1 meter (6 clamps included) for smaller openings.
- 1.2 meter (8 clamps included) for larger openings.
- For extra-wide doors (such as in warehouses or airports in Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, or Bandar Seri Begawan), connect multiple rails side by side.
2. Prepare Mounting Surface
- Ensure the wall, ceiling, or door frame is strong enough to support the stainless-steel rail.
- Clean the surface to remove dust, grease, or loose particles for a secure fit.
- Mark drill points using the pre-drilled holes on the rail as a template.
3. Fix the Stainless Steel Rail
- Drill holes into the marked points.
- Use heavy-duty expansion bolts or stainless-steel screws depending on whether you’re mounting on concrete, brick, or steel frames.
- Secure the rail firmly in place, ensuring it is level and straight.
4. Install the Clamps
- Slide the clamps (150mm wide) into the rail slots.
- For 1 meter rails, attach 6 clamps evenly spaced.
- For 1.2 meter rails, attach 8 clamps evenly spaced.
- Ensure clamps are firmly locked in place before attaching strips.
5. Attach PVC Strips
- Cut PVC strips from the roll (standard size: 3mm thick x 300mm wide).
- Recommended overlap: 50% for dust and insect control, 75% for cold room insulation.
- Insert the top of each strip into the clamp and secure with screws or locking plates.
- Repeat until all clamps are fitted with PVC strips.
6. Test the Curtain
- Swing PVC strips back and forth to check smooth movement.
- Ensure there are no gaps at the top or sides.
- Verify that people, trolleys, and forklifts can pass easily without strips detaching.
7. Maintenance & Adjustments
- Periodically check clamps for tightness, especially in high-traffic warehouses in Bintulu, Miri, and Kuala Belait.
- Replace worn or damaged PVC strips quickly without dismantling the entire rail.
- Wash stainless steel rails with mild detergent to maintain hygiene in food processing areas in Sandakan, Lahad Datu, and Sibu.
